Hersheypark SkyRush Construction Update #57 (12-5-11)

After a weekend of work, it seems like nearly half of the supports have gone up in the ride area and around 25 to 35% of the supports for the whole ride seem to be up.

The supports for the first airtime hill seem to tower over the valley.

The supports for the overbank are all in. The name Intimidator 305 comes to mind at the moment…

This is going to be a good spot for an artistic photo once everything is done.

The cross-over.

They are starting to get down to the far side of the construction site.

The track looks like it’s going to be very low to the path.

It’s at the point where you can picture where the track will be.

Today they were pouring part of the lake wall.

Looks like this is next to be installed.

This is going to have one hell of a tight transition.

It’s not quite as tall as the first airtime hill, but it looks to be 60 to 70 feet.

Over at the station, the footers for the transfer track are going up.

The Founder’s Circle footers seem to be close to being done.

The center support looks to be for the curved airtime hill, but what’s next to it??

Looks like part of the lift????

Ready to be installed once the concrete cures.

That’s the smallest support I’ve ever seen.

Great Bear supports: Intamin style. The path is shown to go directly under it, which probably explains it’s odd shape.

Here’s a view of the supports that have been installed so far.

They’re calling for more rain over the next two days, but it should be only under an inch in all. Hopefully it won’t impact construction too much. Expect another update either Wednesday or Thursday (depending on the weather). Enjoy!
