88 more days until Memorial Day weekend and today iron workers were hard at work installing the reduction brake that will crossover Comet’s exit and brake run section. They’ve also done a few other things today as well, so let’s get to the photos.

10 pieces of track is in this picture. There are around 4 to 6 pieces not pictured here that are off to the right and one is sitting on a flatbed.

There seems to be not as many I-beams here as before.

Hmm, these pipes must’ve arrived over the weekend.

Snapped this photo just in time.

Flat track on a flatbed.

Over at Skyrush, the second to last set of footers look like they are progressing.

Nothing new over here.

More machinery has been added to the lift motor (the part that is covered by that tarp).

Hmm…

Looks like the supports for the reduction brake are starting to go up.

Looks like they are doing some work in the roof area of the station.

It’s hard to tell what they are doing up there, but it looks like quite a bit.

Here’s a look at Comet’s queue area as of right now.

That beefy support that’s been laying in the airfield looks even better in it’s final location.

Over here is where the other reduction brake support is located.

Should be interesting to see what it looks like when it’s all together.

More Skyrush airtime photos for your enjoyment!
